Angleton High School teacher charged one year after inappropriate relationship allegations

ANGLETON, Texas (KTRK) -- A former Angleton ISD teacher was arrested almost one year to the day after the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office began investigating her for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student.

Holly Adams, who taught at Angleton High School, bonded out of jail Tuesday afternoon after a grand jury indicted her on two counts of furnishing alcohol to minors and one count of tampering with evidence.

The tampering offense is alleged to have occurred in August 2025, two days after sheriff's office deputies served a warrant at Adams' home and seized four cell phones, 11 nude photos and a photo book of nude photos.

Adams hasn't been charged with improper relationship between educator and student, which investigators said they were investigating in a search warrant filed last year.

The sheriff's office declined to say what evidence Adams is accused of tampering with.

Attorney Jed Silverman, who doesn't represent Adams, said it's possible that other charges could follow depending on what evidence detectives find on her phone.

"What the search warrant does is it gives the police officer, law enforcement permission to get into the phone, and it takes a little while," said Silverman.

According to the warrant, the investigation began when a student told school staff that Adams was having an inappropriate relationship with a former student.

The student told school officials that the victim Facetimed him from a bedroom at Adams' house over the summer and that the bed was covered in nude photos of her.

He said the victim also sent him a photo of him and Adams cuddling on a sofa.

"If she was having improper relationships with the students, I want her teaching certificate completely taken away. I want to see her go to jail," said Sunni Weeks with the child advocacy group Shield & Voice.

Weeks said she's been following the case for over a year but was somewhat surprised when the charges came down Tuesday given the lack of visible movement over the last year.

According to the warrant, investigators say Adams invited students to her home to assist in chores.

In documents, investigators say she admitted to school administrators that she spoke to three members of the baseball team on Snapchat.

Adams didn't return a text message seeking comment at a number listed for her, and the call was quickly disconnected when Eyewitness News called a different number listed for her.

A spokesperson for Angleton ISD wouldn't answer questions about her employment or comment on the allegations.

"I would like to see the schools come out, and Angleton did not do this: 'Hey, we have this teacher who was accused of this, and if your student, if your child has been around this teacher, we encourage you to speak to your child, to see if anything happened,'" said Weeks.
